    I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Dutch in SoHo, and it truly lived up to its reputation! Located at 131 Sullivan Street, this spot has become a beloved institution since opening, thanks to Chef Andrew Carmellini's creative take on American cuisine. The restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere, with a bar area that feels like a bustling tavern on one side and a more intimate dining experience on the other. During my visit, I enjoyed a cheeseburger, a Bloody Mary, and some fresh oysters. The cheeseburger, in particular, stood out--it was juicy, perfectly cooked, and flavorful, easily one of the best I've had in New York City. My friend, a local who lives around the corner, mentioned that The Dutch is his favorite burger spot in the city, and I can see why! The oysters were fresh and briny, providing a delightful contrast to the richness of the burger. The Bloody Mary was also top-notch, with just the right amount of spice.     Venturing into a classy joint like this as a solo diner meant sitting at the bar, but at least there were three different kinds of bars, and my windowside location must have been considered a decent spot since a nearby setting said "reserved." This was my Ramp Season Finale, so I opted for the Ora King Salmon primarily for this briefly available bulb. The menu was into the brevity thing and didn't detail the excellent sauce. Might have some secret ingredients. The fish was outstanding, converting this salmon agnostic. The sugar snaps were so fresh one wonders if they were harvested that morning in Washington Square Park. Enjoyed talking to Cooper about other menu highlights; he definitely made a good case for the pasta and Wagyu burger even if Soho wouldn't normally be my first stop for such things.

    Had dinner here on a Sunday evening. Was pretty large on the inside, we were seated immediately and I got a cocktail while my guest had some wine. We started with the scallion chipotle cornbread which was good cornbread but definitely didnt have any chipotle flavor and only slight scallion. I got the filet and my guest got the salmon, both were really good and we shared a side of fries that I literally could not stop eating. Would definitely be back when in the area.

    In the heart of Soho, this adorable restaurant serves American cuisine and oysters, and very kids friendly. I had the Bloody Mary oysters for $12 that came with 2 small oysters which was quite unsatisfying. Fried chicken was yummy. Great service! Nice and responsive staff. No complaints. I liked the ambiance. Good for date night or family dinner.
